Joe Miller

Crowell & Moring LLP said Joseph M. Miller, the former general counsel of America’s Health Insurance Plans, has joined the firm as a partner in its Antitrust and Health Care groups.

He will be based in Washington, D.C., and advise on healthcare reform risk and regulatory issues arising under the Affordable Care Act, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and developing corporate compliance policies.

Before AHIP, Miller was the assistant chief of the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division’s Litigation 1 Section. Previous experience also includes serving as lead attorney on DOJ’s antitrust investigations.

He began his career as a trial attorney in the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition.

Miller completed his bachelor’s degree at Emory University and his law degree at George Mason University School of Law. He is a member of both the American Health Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Section.
