Arjo is launching its own dedicated long-term care division.

The medical device supplier’s new division includes its own sales and customer service reps, the company said. The announcement follows news that the Addison, IL-based company, formerly known as ArjoHuntleigh, is branching off as an independently listed company from its parent, Getinge Group.

The firm — whose products include everything from ceiling lifts to long-term care beds, hygiene systems, along with consulting services — said it wanted to affirm its commitment to this field.

“As an independent Arjo, we will be better positioned to meet the changing needs of our customers, including addressing the trend of a rising number of elderly people and those suffering from age-related illnesses,” said Anne Sigouin, North American president of Arjo.
