McKnight’s Long-Term Care News has earned the Gold Award for Best News Section in the 2011 American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors awards competition. The awards recognize outstanding editorial excellence and achievement in U.S. healthcare publications.

This is the fourth year McKnight’s Long-Term Care News has won the Gold Award for Best News Section, and ninth time overall that the section has been honored. McKnight’s also won three Silver Awards this year in results announced this week: for Best Online News Coverage, Best Website and Best Single Issue (October 2010).

McKnight’s now has won a total of 41 ASHPE awards. In 2009 it nabbed the group’s top prize, Publication of the Year.

“This is a great team accomplishment,” said McKnight’s Vice President and Editorial Director John O’Connor. He added that this contest holds special significance because other editors in the healthcare publishing field judge it.

“We’re both honored and humbled by our continuing success in this prestigious competition.”
