On December 1, 2012, Genesis HealthCare completed the acquisition of Sun HealthCare Group, Inc. This merger created one of the largest skilled nursing providers in the country, with 422 skilled nursing centers in 29 states. It also expanded Genesis HealthCare’s rehabilitation therapy business (Genesis Rehab Services) to more than 1,500 contracts in 46 states.
In addition to expanding in skilled nursing and therapy, Genesis HealthCare gained ownership of Sun’s staffing solutions company, CareerStaff Unlimited (CSU), and its five divisions. One of these divisions is ReadyNurse. CSU provides staffing solutions by connecting experienced healthcare professionals with hundreds of quality healthcare facilities across the country, effectively completing the expansion of Genesis HealthCare’s business, employment, and care footprint to all 50-states, nationwide.
The union of healthcare provider and staffing company prompted Staffing Industry Analysts, “The Global Advisor on Contingent Work,” to rank Genesis HealthCare & CareerStaff Unlimited on the “2013 Largest U.S. Healthcare Staffing Firms.”
ReadyNurse opened in 1998 to serve nurses who want to set their own hours while earning a comfortable income. Owned by CareerStaff Unlimited, one of the largest healthcare staffing companies in the United States, the primary emphasis is on matching the needs of employees with those of clients. Above all, ReadyNurse is proud of their greatest asset — dedicated healthcare professionals. Sister divisions of ReadyNurse within the CSU family include: ProCare One Nurses, in Southern California; CareerStaff RX, staffing pharmacists all over the country; Locums Tenens, providing Locums in all 50 states; and Therapists Unlimited, specializing in the placement of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language pathology professionals throughout the U.S.
ReadyNurse sets the standard for competitive rates and compensation, courteous and professional service, and great benefits for employees and clients. We give nurses the flexibility to work their desired hours in their preferred locations, and we give healthcare providers the ability to hire quality nursing professionals to maintain safe staffing levels.
ReadyNurse personnel and clients depend on excellent service. This level of quality has enabled the company to attract and retain a large, dedicated team of long-term care interim management professionals. Additionally, ReadyNurse places specialty acute care nurses, hospice staff, correction nurses, home care employees, and numerous other disciplines as well.
If you are an LTC administrator, you know you are never quite sure what the patient census will bring — or what your staffing needs will become. Sometimes it’s as basic as filling a single shift, while other times the need may be to add more full-time positions. Whether you need temporary staff, a traveler, permanent placement assistance, or even replacement workers for labor disputes if the need should ever arise — we have you covered. Our clients gain a staffing solutions partner who understands their facility.
If you are an LTC professional, we can provide you with maximum flexibility, without the politics. We employ professionals on a per diem, part-time, and full-time basis. No matter when or where you want to work, we can help. Whether you want to work one day a month, get a travel contract in Aspen or Maui, or use us to land that dream role, we are here for you.
As a part of its commitment to excellence, ReadyNurse encourages the public it serves to contact ReadyNurse management or The Joint Commission to report concerns about the quality and safety of patient care provided by ReadyNurse employees. This commitment to excellence by ReadyNurse falls perfectly in line with Genesis HealthCare’s Core Values: Care & Compassion for every life we touch.
