Study may lead to less harmful pain medications

A study of Paracetamol (a commonly-used pain medication) could pave the way to less harmful pain drugs in the future, according to investigators at King's College London. Authors said they have figured out how the medication actually works: a protein called TRPA1, found on the surface of nerve cells, is needed for Paracetamol to be effective. Full findings appear in Nature Communications.
