Telemedicine will play a much larger role in healthcare during 2012, according to a recent report from Euro RSCG. Among its growing uses: remote monitoring of chronic conditions, transmitting scans and tests for analysis — and real-time interaction via teleconsultations. The158-page report also sees governments paying more attention to diabetes management. “The transformation of health will continue to accelerate, getting bigger as companies scale beyond traditional borders,” said Larry Mickelberg, a spokesman for Havas Worldwide Health. “We have the opportunity to marry these new streams with more traditional health communications and power better health experiences,” he noted.
