The Senate Majority Leader says he wants to air a financial regulatory reform bill before the full chamber next week. Sen. Harry Reid’s (D-NV) public statement about the thorny issue is a sign that Democrats may be eager to resume pursuing their ruling-party agenda after a bruising debate and campaign to pass healthcare reform.

This time, however, one or even a handful of Republicans could be willing to cross the aisle to aid a bill’s passage, some observers feel. At least one is needed top pass any proposal this time. Financial regulatory reform could affect the way capital is available in the market for long-term care providers.
