McKnight’s is taking a deep dive into the topic of the coronavirus during a special Online Forum next Thursday, April 23.

Three webinars will focus on separate aspects of the crisis: leadership, staffing and social distancing. Listeners can receive continuing education credit for each session.

“This crisis presents a critical time for senior care providers,” said John O’Connor, associate publisher and editorial director of McKnight’s, which has two brands, McKnight’s Long-Term Care News and McKnight’s Senior Living. “Our goal with this day is to provide resources, tools and education that facility operators can use to manage their buildings and help safeguard the health and safety of their staff and residents.”

The event will kick off at 10:30 a.m. ET with a session on leadership, entitled “Navigating COVID-19: Best practices, healthcare heroes and the future landscape.” Leading this session will be Phil Fogg, CEO of Marquis Companies and Consonus Healthcare.

Next up at 12 p.m. ET is “Staffing in a crisis: How senior care facilities are successfully dealing with COVID-19.” Speakers will be Marshall Slaybod, J.D., and Slava Zeif, who work for SmartLinx Solutions, a workforce management solutions company.

Concluding the day is a focus on the behavioral health effects of the pandemic. “Managing the mental health needs of residents and the workforce in times of social distancing” will take place at 1:30 p.m. ET. Speakers will be Maureen Style, program development manager, HealthStar Home Health in St Paul, MN; and Jessica Castner, Ph.D., RN-BC, president and principal investigator, Castner Inc.
