Tim Oser, R.Ph. BCGP

Proper use of a type of drug most commonly identified with adverse drug interactions will be the focus of a special McKnight’s webinar Nov. 13. Attendees will learn to better compare, use and safely distribute warfarin and newer, direct oral anticoagulants during the one-hour broadcast, which begins at 1 p.m. ET.

The featured speaker will be Tim Oser, a 24-year veteran pharmacist for Omnicare, and a board-certified geriatric pharmacist since 2004. Free CE credit will be available to attendees.

Anticoagulants are commonly used in long-term care to treat blood clots, such as deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, and to prevent stroke in people who have atrial fibrillation. Warfarin tops the list of “Top 10 Drug Interactions” in long-term care.

McKnight’s Editor James M. Berklan will moderate the event, which is being sponsored by Omnicare.
