While the flu seems to be waning, a new outbreak is still possible, according to the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases.

People should get vaccinated during this quiet period and while vaccine supplies are abundant, Director Dr. Anne Schuchat said. The Department of Health and Human Services last month advised all Americans to receive the vaccine. A total of 136 million doses have been made available.

Four states currently are experiencing widespread swine flu activity: Delaware, Maine, New Jersey and Virginia. Adults 65 and older initially were not among the priority groups advised to receive the vaccine.
