A global architecture firm and flooring company just announced a new collaboration, aiming to better understand the senior living industry.

New York City-based Perkins Eastman is partnering with J+J Flooring Group of Dalton, GA, to dive into the “trends, industry disruptors and opportunities” that this business sector faces in the present and future, according to a press release.

The two companies plan to do so, they say, by tapping “thought leaders and innovators” who work outside of the senior living sphere — such as futurists, lifestyle consultants, technology experts and medical professions.

Perkins Eastman and J+J Flooring plan to harness information from those gurus to figure out how to build better environments for seniors, and what that might eventually mean in terms of new products, design strategies, healthcare models and research strategies, according to the release.
