Alaska might be getting two new skilled nursing facilities, according to local reports, called Maple Springs Senior Living and Mat-Su Colony Skilled Nursing Facility.

Mat-Su Colony is being developed by Spring Creek Enterprises and Arleta Healthcare.

Mat-Su Colony would be located near to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer. Spring Creek purchased the property for $1.25 million.

The estimated cost of the proposed 94,890-square-foot, 104-bed skilled nursing facility is $20.75 million.

Maple Springs has two proposed sites, including one in Wasilla. The facilities would have a mix of skilled nursing, hospice, assisted living and memory care. The total cost of the project is estimated to be around $36 million.
