If there was anything unfortunate about the magnificent 2021 McKnight’s Women of Distinction awards ceremony recently, it was that 52 wonderful women leaders had their night in the spotlight — but it all went too quickly.

The bright beams summoned hearty huzzahs from friends, family and colleagues in an inspirational program that can still be viewed here for many months.

But I think we were all left longing for a little more about the luminaries themselves. What makes these great leaders tick? How did they forge their successful career paths? We all deserve to know.

This week we started bringing you the back stories, and more, in personal profiles on them in the Daily Update.

You want more long-term care good news? Here’s a guaranteed two scoops a day, starting last Monday and stretching into early August.

By the end of that span, you will have read about 19 Hall of Honor inductees, 15 Veteran VIPs and 17 Rising Stars. (2021 Lifetime Achievement Award winner Mary Ousley’s story can be found here and an even more in-depth profile here.)

It’s always a good time when you can receive inspiration from colleagues. Here’s practically a summerful of it.

We’re hoping that these honorees not only enjoy their deserved place in the sun a little longer but you also find insight and encouragement in the paths they have paved.

We also hope it leads to motivation for nominees in the 2022 program. We’ll be asking for submissions before 2021 is out, so mark your calendars now and keep your eyes peeled.

In the meantime, keep an eye on the Daily Update installments or stop in here if you ever want to catch up on any you might have missed.

It would be really unfortunate if you didn’t.
