» GOJO Industries presented the results of a study on electronic monitoring and hand hygiene at the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology Conference in June. The research was on the effect of the company’s SMARTLINK Activity Monitoring System at two units of an acute care facility in Texas. It found the system created a significant increase in hand hygiene compliance.

» MDI Achieve announced the launch of the MatrixCare Marketing iPad® app in May. The app allows users to use MatrixCare Marketing (formerly REPS) functionality on their iPad. Benefits include being able to add new leads, update existing information, and view apartment availability reports. The company also announced in June it is migrating its major clients to the MatrixCare platform, which is expected to take about 18 months. 

» Diversified growth company Roper Industries bought Managed Health Care Associates in May. Michael J. Sicilian, who has been MHA’s president since 2007, will lead the company. Douglas Present, MHA’s CEO, has stepped down.

» Depend has launched two products designed for men with light bladder leakage. Depend Guards and Shields were created to fit securely in a man’s underwear. The Depend Guards for Men fit like an athletic cup and feature maximum absorbency. Depend Shields for Men are ultra-thin and offer light absorbency.

» Medline Industries Inc. named Roche Diagnostics its 2012 Platinum Vendor of the Year for the post-acute care market. Roche received the honor at Medline’s National Sales Meeting in Chicago. 

» Pathway Health, a consulting company, announced a partnership with online education provider Redilearning Corp.
