The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will host a pair of two-day MDS 3.0 Conferences for providers next week in St. Louis. The initial session (Tuesday-Wednesday) filled so quickly, regulators wound up creating a second session, which will be held Thursday and Friday. Federal regulators will analyze the most recent changes in the MDS 3.0 assessment tool — including those to be instituted in April and those that went into effect last October.

Hot topics regarding next month’s changes will include planned/unplanned discharge assessments; care area assessments and the care planning process; discharge planning as related to Section Q; and therapy assessment changes.

The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch and is open to all long-term care providers, provider associations, consultants, vendors and organizations that support quality care. Information and updates about these conferences will be posted to the conference website. Questions about the conference may be sent to [email protected].
