A COT is required when the RUG level increases or decreases. If you do not complete a COT when required, you will be considered to have a late or missed assessment.

Medicare would increase skilled nursing facility reimbursements by $750 million in 2015 under an updated payment rate proposed Thursday. CMS also will begin tying reimbursements to new statistical area designations set by the Office of Management and Budget.
What happens if my therapy company makes an error on the MDS and as a result, a change of therapy was missed? Are we still responsible?
