There’s new leadership at the top of one leading long-term care consulting firm.

Erin Shvetzoff Hennessey recently took the reins as chief executive of Health Dimensions Group, which is based in Minnetonka, MN. She replaces her father, Sergei Shvetzoff, who retired as CEO in May, though he’ll continue on as chairman of the board.

It’s been a long road for Hennessey, who recalls binding reports at the firm as a child, followed by stints as everything from dietary aide to administrator in the eldercare field. Her current stretch at HDG extends back to 2010.

“It’s bittersweet. There’s a lot of excitement that I have about my new role, but I’ll miss working with him every day,” she told McKnight’s about her father.

Coupled with the leadership change that took effect in May, HDG also recently announced that it is expanding services while livening up its brand with a new logo. That includes adding a centralized business office and human resources services for senior care facilities, while also bolstering current offerings in operational performance improvement, revenue cycle management and interim leadership.

Hennessey said she has an eye toward growth and innovation. In addition to consulting services, the firm currently manages 30 healthcare properties in seven states, 12 of which are of the skilled-nursing variety, through various leasing or ownership agreements. They are looking to add 10 more senior living properties to that total in the next 18 months. And despite the current action on the senior living side, she said HDG is constantly searching for skilled nursing opportunities, too, and doesn’t intend on vacating that side of the business anytime soon.

“We’re actively looking for other skilled nursing facilities to bring into our portfolio,” she said. “Skilled nursing will look different in the future, but I think it’s still going to be a really critical part of the healthcare continuum. As much as people say nursing homes may go away, I don’t believe they will. There will always be a subset of the population who needs this type of care.”
