Mike Bassett has joined the American Health Care Association as its senior director of government affairs.
Bassett previously was the senior policy advisor for Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN). He also was the staff director for the Senate Committee on Aging and a legislative assistant to Sen. Mel Martinez (R-FL). Other previous positions include being the LA for the Congressional & Intergovernmental Affairs in the Department of Labor, and as an economic development legislative assistant in the Texas Office of State-Federal Relations.
“Mike possesses that unique ability to reach across issue areas, find common ground, and form workable policy solutions,” said AHCA/NCAL President and CEO Mark Parkinson. “He will be a tremendous asset to our team as we present compelling new ideas to old challenges facing Medicare and Medicaid financing.”
Bassett received his B.S. in Finance from the University of Florida. He lives in Washington, D.C.
