Doctor and senior woman wearing facemasks during coronavirus and flu outbreak. Virus protection. COVID-2019..

Baby boomers are all over the media today so it’s no surprise they’ve found a place on the Internet too. Now they and seniors have one more site to call their own.

Retirement Living TV, which is affiliated with Erickson Retirement Communities, this week launched www.freedomyears.com, a portal for health information and user interaction on aging issues.

Visitors can find health tips, such as how to keep their cholesterol in check, and talk with other people online. Much of the content comes from sources within the senior care organization, such as the Erickson Tribune, an internal newspaper, and experts associated with Erickson.

The site is the sister of Retirement Living TV’s www.rl.tv, which was ranked among the 10 best sites for baby boomers by PC Magazine online (www.pcmag.com) in March.

For those in the know, this site is just the tip of the virtual glacier. While MySpace and FaceBook dominate the headlines, there are plenty of sites for that colossal group of adults born between 1946 and 1964.

Among some of the interesting ones for you to share with colleagues and your more active seniors:

www.grandparents.com, an upbeat information site for grandma and grandpa. Learn about how to keep up with your tech-savvy grandchildren. Download the “Ultimate Grandparent Starter Kit.”

www.irememberjfk.com, for all things nostalgic from the 1950s and 60s. Reminisce about Matchbox cars, home movies, American Bandstand and other hallmarks of these eras.

www.tbd.com, whose motto is Sharing Experiences to Thrive. TBD stands for “To Be Determined.” According to the home page: “TeeBeeDee is the online community for people over forty who know that life is still to be determined.”

www.eons.com, a social networking site for those 50 and older. Here, members can join groups on gardening or music, or even dating.

www.boomergirl.com. Geared to (surprise!) the ladies of the baby boom generation, this site has sections on everything from dating to books, beauty, business, sex, fashion, spirituality, and advice. It launched last year.
