Healthcare practitioners topped the list of the highest paid occupations last year, a new study found.

Thirteen of the 15 highest-paid occupations were practitioners, led by anesthesiologists and surgeons according to figures released by the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. Anesthesiologists had the highest average hourly pay for all occupations at $88.63.

Food preparation and serving workers were at the bottom of the wage scale. The study also found a broad discrepancy in pay between healthcare support workers and more skilled healthcare workers.
