The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality will host a webinar on fall prevention in long-term care facilities on Aug. 13, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The “Improving Patient Safety in Long-Term Care Facilities: Falls Prevention and Management” is the final webinar of AHRQ’s four-part series based on the Improving Patient Safety in Long-Term Care Facilities Training Modules.

Learning objectives include:

  • Effective engagement activities for nursing assistants, licensed nurses and other staff
  • AHRQ patient care training resources on the prevention and management of falls
  • Review of relevant case studies related to falls and fall-related injuries

AHRQ works within the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

The presentation will be led Marian D. Edmiston, D.Ed., MSN, RN-BC, who recently served as the corporate senior director for nursing education and practice at Genesis HealthCare
