AHCA President and CEO Mark Parkinson

The leader of the nation’s largest nursing home association trumpeted gains made over the last three years but also exhorted members to press for more change.

“What’s next is that we must work harder,” said Mark Parkinson, the president and CEO of the American Health Care Association, at the group’s recent convention in Phoenix. “The folks who were after us three years ago are still after us.”

Parkinson said the association is “bigger, better and stronger.”

Notable progress been made in reducing rehospitalizations and use of antipsychotics, he said. “At every level, we have more members than ever. We are starting to see results.”
