Sherwin-Williams Poised Taupe Bedroom

Sherwin-Williams has named Poised Taupe (SW 6039) as the 2017 Color of the Year.

The shade involves the warmth of brown but features what customers love about cool gray as a neutral, executives said. Neutrals are transitioning away from monochrome gray, they added.

The color “signals a new direction in society’s ever-growing thirst for beautiful neutrals that bring warm and cool tones together to create one irresistibly versatile color,” the company said.

The warmer color trend is expected to hit commercial spaces and will endure over time, executives said.

Anchored by the 2017 Color of the Year and taken from colormix™ 2017: The Sherwin-Williams Color Forecast, there are a new set of commercial neutrals such as Mudslide (SW 9113), Sealskin (SW 7675), Casa Blanca (SW 7571). Last year’s Color of the Year was Alabaster.
