The recent acquisition of WellAware by Healthsense is reflective of the ongoing transformation of healthcare into a performance- and wellness-centric system that leverages advanced aging services technologies to support the diverse and rapidly evolving needs of the expanding senior population.
Healthsense Inc. has acquired WellAware Systems, the company announced July 1. WellAware is a monitoring system with passive sensors and analytical software that gives caregivers information on emergent health conditions.
Teresa DiMarco was recently named the new CEO at WellAware Systems. "We are extremely pleased to have attracted an executive of Teresa's caliber to lead and scale WellAware in its mission of improving the quality and efficiency of care for seniors," said David Horazdovsky, CEO of The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society and member of WellAware's board. DiMarco brings more than 25 years executive management experience to this new role.
WellAWARE Systems recently announced a partnership with The Eden Alternative. The Eden Alternative will be incorporating WellAWARE's technology into its educational programs. The result will be insightful wellness data, such as sleep quality, bathroom visits, and activity levels, according to both organizations. "Partnering with a forward-thinking organization like The Eden Alternative strengthens our movement to improve the safety and wellness of elders," said Jeff Noce, CEO of WellAWARE Systems.
