Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says the Senate will be ready to vote Saturday on a procedural move that will determine whether debate on that chamber’s healthcare reform bill will be allowed to begin.

Reid reportedly was remaining cagey about whether he could muster the 60 votes needed to override opposition to the bill’s advancement. If Saturday’s vote is successful, Reid reportedly will begin debate on the reform measure Monday Nov. 30.

Republicans and Democrats remain fiercely split on the reform issue but still may eventually agree to pass several LTC-centered measures.
