States' health rankings to be revealed Tuesday in Washington
State health officials and providers will learn how they stack up compared to their peers around the nation on Tuesday. America's Health Rankings will issue its 2009 report "Reporting on States Today, Applying Twenty Years of Lessons for Tomorrow."
The ratings analyze 22 different types of health measures, which can be key predictors of future health, officials said. Last year, the group found that the overall health of the U.S. population had not improved for the fourth year in a row. The ratings stem from a collaboration of the United Health Foundation, the American Public Health Association, and Partnership for Prevention.
