International nursing home conference this weekend
International experts in the field of long-term care will converge in St. Louis today and tomorrow for in-depth discussions and study about taking care of the elderly.
Presenters include Florida Atlantic University's Joseph Ouslander, M.D. on hospitalizations in long-term care; University of Missouri's Marilyn Rantz, Ph.D., RN, on technology in nursing homes; Belgium's Majda Azermai, Ph.D., RN, on the use of psychotropic drugs in nursing homes; University of London's Martin Orrell, Ph.D., on cognitive stimulation therapy in nursing homes, and the University of Maryland's Barbara Resnick, Ph.D., RN on the latest research in nursing homes.
The conference will be held at Saint Louis University and is sponsored by the International Association of Gerontology & Geriatrics.
