Health lawyers to tackle arbitration, HITECH and health reform at annual meeting
The American Health Lawyers Association will hold its annual meeting next week in Seattle. Education session topics will include the arbitration process, an overview of HITECH (Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health) Act regulations, and changes to Medicare Parts A and B under healthcare reform.
Keynote speakers will be William H. Gates Sr., father of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR). The conference will be held Sunday through Wednesday at the Sheraton Seattle and Grand Hyatt Seattle.
Other education sessions will cover anti-fraud strategies for federal, state and private programs; the law and practical application of medical error apologies; implications of the anti-kickback statute; and the impact of the new labor and employment landscape on healthcare.
