'Hackers' getting ready for tech design contest at LeadingAge
University teams from across the country are gearing up to show off their technology-driven tools meant for improving the lives of older adults and their families. They'll be taking part in the inaugural “HackFest” Oct. 25-27 in Dallas, in conjunction with the LeadingAge annual meeting. “Engage with Age” will challenge the students to design a tool and present a plan for how it would be implemented. The top team will be announced at 1:15 p.m. Oct. 25 and win $5,000; two runners-up will each take home $2,000.
Entries will be judged based on originality, usability, design relevance, and the degree to which they are completed by the end of the competition. For more on the competition, click here.
