Antibiotic stewardship is now required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for nursing homes. Attendees at McKnight’s Super Tuesday on Jan. 23 will learn about information and tools to help nursing home providers and staff to better understand both the science and the practicalities of antibiotic stewardship, and apply it in everyday practice.

This will include how to implement the main components of an antibiotic stewardship program.

Philip D. Sloane, M.D., MPH, the Elizabeth and Oscar Goodwin Distinguished Professor of Family Medicine and co-Director, Program on Aging, Disability, and Long-Term Care, Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will be the featured speaker. The session will be moderated by McKnight’s Senior Editor Elizabeth Newman.

Participants can earn 1.0 continuing education credit hour by attending the webinar live. The session will begin at 1 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
