Ventas Inc. was recognized by two benchmarking organizations, the Dow Jones Sustainability™ North America Index (DJSI) and GRESB.

It is the first time Ventas was included in the DJSI, which measures a company’s environment, social, governance structure (ESG) with RobecoSAM’s analysis of industry-specific ESG factors and the index methodology of S&P Dow Jones indices.

Ventas ranked first among three listed healthcare real estate companies in this year’s GRESB real estate ESG assessment. The GRESB is an investor-driven organization that assesses the ESG performance of real estate investments (public, private and direct).

Ventas also received an “A” ranking on the new GRESB Public Disclosure Assessment, which reflects public reporting.

“Ventas is incredibly proud of our ESG performance. Our deep commitment to corporate responsibility is evidenced by our inclusion in the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability Index and our number one ranking on GRESB among our healthcare REIT peers,” said Debra A. Cafaro, Ventas chairman and chief executive officer. “The Ventas culture and company policies promote strong governance and ethics.”
