Jacqueline Vance, RN

Oh, ICD-10, you are so near,

Your extra digits is what we fear.

We have to start on October One,

But coding drafts are still undone!

Wait, what? Split the bill

Between September and October?

I signed up as nurse

Not a de-coder!

I need a new policy

For coding integrity?

A claim check process?

A new list? Oh, goody!

I must learn extensions,

Codes with M, S or T,

I’m filled with apprehension,

Is it too late to flee?

And just how the heck

Can I have my staff tell,

What the difference is,

Between this and code hell?

So save yourself hours,

Ditch resolved diagnosis

That 3 year old GERD or,

That ancient necrosis

‘Cause if you think it is safe

To re-enter the stirrups,

We just heard ICD-11

Has started in Europe!

Just keeping it real,

Nurse Jackie
