Sunrise Senior Living Inc. is now in the business of long-term care learning.
The company, which owns skilled nursing and other senior living facilities, acquired the assets of Assisted Living University, effective June 23, 2005. The value of the acquisition was not disclosed. ALU will be integrated into Sunrise as an operating subsidiary under the new name Senior Living University.
The acquisition will help accelerate the roll-out of expanded training and education offerings to Sunrise communities and help develop a system to track Sunrise training and education, officials said. Since it was founded in 1996, ALU has developed a product line of more than 60 training courses and videos.
