Silverchair Learning Systems has a new owner. Vista Equity Partners, a California-based firm has purchased the online training firm. "This is a great situation for both us and our customers," said Mike Mutka, president and chief operating officer of Silverchair Learning Systems. Mutka added that customers will not see any changes in the short term. The company also plans to remain on the East Coast. Mutka said that Vista Equity Partners emerged as the best candidate among numerous suitors from the private equity field. Vista Equity Partners' experience in purchasing and managing technology-based firms made it especially attractive to Silverchair, Mutka noted. Terms of the deal were not released.
Amy Jeffs is the chief operations officer for Status Solutions, the company announced. In her new role, Jeffs will help position the company for growth in the senior living and allied markets in her new role. Jeffs joined the company in 2006 to direct marketing, public relations and lead-generation activities. The company's core software application is SARA (Situational Awareness and Response Assistant), an automated alarm management and alerting platform.
Status Solutions announced a strategic partnership with ICON Voice Networks. The deal initiates integration efforts between both organizations' development teams. The first phase of the integration includes the ability to use SIP to deliver real-time audio messages from the SARA alert engine to ICON Voice Networks SIP-enabled endpoints, such as Iwatsu telephones, mobile devices, cell phones, land lines and more.
