Qualcomm recently partnered with Project RAY to develop a smartphone for people who are visually impaired. The product integrates the capabilities of smartphone technology and multiple specialty devices into a single handset. The product offers non-stop mobile broadband connectivity and a user interface that facilitates eye-free interaction. It does this by using vibrations and audio cues. The phone is currently being tested by 100 people in Israel.
