Oska Wellness, a California-based wellness company, has released a study indicating the Oska Pulse can reduce pain and improve mobility.

The Oska Pulse is a wearable health device designed to reduce muscle stiffness and increase mobility for those who have acute or chronic pain.

In a study, 80% of participants had an improvement in pain reduction and 40% reported an improvement in mobility, according to results published in the Journal of Pain Management.

Thirty percent of participants remained pain-free for the four-week trial.

"I think this is a good initial report with solid results – especially with helping mobility," said author Kathy Davis, Ph.D., RN, Associate Professor of Nursing at Gordon State College in Georgia. "With chronic pain as a common problem seen in clinical practice, patients and providers are seeking alternatives to pain management that are safe and effective.  It is critical to continue to study the device with larger samples of the population to further evaluate the full potential of Oska Pulse."

The Oska Pulse uses Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapeutic technology, which passes through bone to deliver more nutrients and oxygen to tissues while removing waste products. It dilates blood vessels which “reduces inflammation and the increased oxygen rich blood flow speeds muscle recovery,” the company said.
