Stimulus bill promises more funding for long-term care

Later today, the full House of Representatives is expected to begin debating the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Among the components of the $825 billion stimulus package are a 4.9%  increase to Federal Medical Assistance Percentages (FMAP), funding affecting senior housing,  as well as language calling for a study of health IT applications in aging services. If enacted, this stimulus measure is expected to help improve care in the long-term care field.
