Relias Learning has released its 2017 State of Staff Development and Training report.

The goal is for executives to use it to benchmark their current practices, investments and beliefs against a national sample, and to spur discussion on how to improve staff development and training to fulfill an organization's mission, the company said.

Highlights of the report include looking at perceived business alignment related to staff development, training drivers and influences, perceptions of strengths and weaknesses in training, and budgeting staff development and training.

"We were encouraged to find that more than three-quarters of healthcare professionals reported high usage of online training,” said Mark Belles, Chief Operating Officer at Relias Learning. “Unfortunately, the report also uncovered that only one in four respondents are able to evaluate if the training is actually working. This highlights the critical importance for organizations to implement an analytics strategy to maximize the value of the online training resources they're currently devoting resources to.”

The report is available at no cost and can be downloaded at  2017 State of Training report.
