Resveratrol may replace aspirin as heart protector
University of Connecticut investigators found that resveratrol can be an effective substitute for aspirin in preventing heart attacks. A branded resveratrol pill, Longevinex, was found to afford the same level of protection at a much lower dose. The medication may be less harmful to the hearts of elderly patients, researchers suggested.
