Presbyterian Senior Living received designation as a NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders) facility. It is among the first long-term care organizations to attain this independent affiliation.

“Our commitment to residents is consistent with the mission of NICHE,” said Teresa Buchman, RN, BSN, corporate director of clinical services at Presbyterian Senior Living. “As a patient-centered organization, we are strong advocates for the types of sensitive and exemplary care that NICHE promotes.”

To receive the designation, 11 Presbyterian Senior Living community health centers participated in a Leadership Training Program. Steering committees from these programs “developed strategic plans and clinical and operational priorities through a review of performance improvement and risk management data.” The plan was submitted to NICHE.

“Presbyterian Senior Living shows a tremendous commitment to meet the most critical challenge of our times: quality care of older adults,” said Barbara Bricoli, executive director, NICHE, New York University College of Nursing.
