Optimus EMR Inc. has been certified by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy for its bi-directional pharmacy interface using NCPDP 10.6 messages.

The certification was effective January 22 and works with Omnicare’s OmniDX and OASIS pharmacy systems.

“Optimus, OmniDX and OASIS were previously reviewed and made approvable; this is a current update for each with NCPDP 10.6 and bidirectional transmissions,” the certification reads.

Clients will be able to have increased staff efficiency for order entry and order processing, increased safety through inbound return message quality checks and a double check of order text, the company said. There should also be cost savings from formulary update options and from reducing the orders of non-formulary medications.
