High healthcare expenditures has put North America at the front of the global nursing care market, according to an analysis that projects into the next decade. Europe is second behind North America, while report authors also note that Asia is expected to experience a “high growth rate” over the next five years.

“Nursing Care Market: Global Industry Analysis and Forecast to 2020” reports on market sizes and forecasts for different geographic areas from 2010 to 2020.

Diseases such as diabetes and cancer are fueling the growth in nursing care globally, the report notes, while insufficient reimbursements, high costs and insufficient supply of staff are restraining market growth.

Some of the senior care companies mentioned in the market analysis, according to report authors, are Emeritus, Genesis Healthcare, Life Care Centers for America, Kindred Healthcare and Extendicare.
