Lutheran Home to pilot SwipeSense

Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights, IL announced it will be piloting SwipeSense, a new system that monitors hand washing rates remotely and compiles analytics about frequency rate.

SwipeSense is primarily being used in hospitals, but Lutheran Home is among the long-term care settings using it to monitor hand hygiene.

Lutheran Home will install SwipeSense on three units, with sensors on bottles of alcohol-based hand sanitizer and soap, as well as portable dispensers that will be with the healthcare specialist at the point of care.

The product was developed by two Northwestern University graduates and was a finalist for the Wall Street Journal Start Up of the Year Award.
