Learning the hard way
Three years ago, Hurricane Katrina delivered a beating that still scars New Orleans and a wide swath of the South. Fortunately, many of Katrina's lessons were put into place before Hurricane Gustav arrived this past weekend. Communication was better, evacuation plans were carried out with fewer glitches, and things were generally less chaotic this time around. Providers are to be commended for weathering Mother Nature's latest challenge, and learning from the last one.
