Long-term care workers are supposed to be at the front of the line when it comes to receiving the H1N1 vaccine. Yet many employees have still not been inoculated. And the causes for the delay are becoming apparent. One of the biggest challenges is that vaccine supplies have failed to keep up with demand. Worse, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has designated 159 million people as having priority for the vaccine. That's right, 159 million people. Sens. Joseph Lieberman (I-CT) and Susan Collins (R-ME) wrote to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, demanding some answers. Let's hope they don't mind waiting.
