Japanese researchers have created a robot system that can help home residents and other seniors get dressed. The device performs trial-and-error searches called "reinforcement learning." This approach uses motions that mimic those of a person offering clothing assistance. The device was created at Japan's Nara Institute of Science and Technology. Once in the marketplace, this product could help residents gain independence and relieve overworked nursing home staff, according to industry experts.
