Construction has begun on two 78-unit Heartis assisted living and memory care communities in the Houston area.

Heartis Cypress and Heartis Clear Lake are expected to open in the first quarter of 2015. The communities are being developed, and will be owned by, real estate firm Caddis Partners LLC and managed by Good Neighbor Care.

Heartis Cypress and Heartis Clear Lake will feature a “Main Street” streetscape in the memory care neighborhood that includes a movie theater, 1950s-style ice cream parlor, art studio, auto repair garage and planting nursery.

“Heartis Cypress and Heartis Clear Lake will be the only senior communities in their respective markets to offer this innovative Main Street concept,” says Katie Csobaji, who joined Caddis Partners in January as its new vice president of senior housing. “The Main Street concept ties into the overall therapeutic approach we use in Heartis communities.”

Heartis Cypress and Heartis Clear Lake also will offer three interior courtyards along with chef-prepared meals, housekeeping and laundry services and assistance with activities of daily living. The former will be at nearby communities including Bridgeland and Towne Lake. Heartis Clear Lake will be located in the established community of Clear Lake and close to NASA and the Bay Area’s medical complex.

The architect for both Heartis communities is Austin, TX-based KATUS. The general contractor is the Dallas office of MAPP Construction. The Dallas office of Amegy Bank is providing financing.
