3M has introduced 3M™ C. diff Solution Tablets as an alternative to bleach and peracetic acid disinfectants.

The tablets kill Clostridium difficile spores in four minutes and are effective against norovirus, the company said. They dissolve in three minutes and are available in two sizes. The user then can apply the solution with a cloth, wipe, mop or sprayer. They have a three-year shelf life in sealed packets and a seven-day shelf life when diluted and stored.

“We are excited to provide our customers with an effective solution for the battle against C. diff,” said Adrian Cook, product marketer for chemicals at 3M Commercial Solutions Division. "The reduction and prevention of infections is an important focus for our customers and we look forward to continuing our work in ensuring safe environments.”

3M Commercial Solutions Division also announced expansion of its Flow Control System product line through introduction of products for killing MRSA (3M™ Neutral Quat Disinfectant Cleaner Concentrate 23A), carpet cleaner (Scotchgard™ Pretreatment Cleaner Concentrate 28A) and a green bathroom cleaner (3M™ Bathroom Cleaner Concentrate 44A)
