Frank Grosso, RPh, has been named the executive director and CEO of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists. He will start on September 8.
“The opportunity to take on the leadership of an organization that has been at the forefront of medication therapy management for seniors for 45 years is very exciting,” Grosso said.
Grosso, the vice president of pharmacy services at Genesis HealthCare, LLC, has 35 years of long-term care pharmacy experience and has worked at Genesis since 1991. Before that, he was senior vice president of pharmacy operations for NeighborCare Pharmacy for 14 years.
Grosso has been an ASCP member since 1981 and has served on numerous ASCP committees including the Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force and the Advocacy Council. He has been involved in key issues such as short-cycle dispensing, implementation of Medicare Part D, and controlled drugs.
A graduate of Albany College of Pharmacy, he also served as director of long-term care pharmacy at Fay’s Drugs.
