Scott Blanchette

C. Scott Blanchette began as Kindred Healthcare’s chief information officer this week.

Blanchette was recently the founder and president of Hangar9 Solutions, and spent two years as a senior vice president and CIO at Vanguard Health Systems. Other previous positions include senior vice president of product development and CIO at Healthways, Inc., director of IT and security and Stanford University Medical Center, and senior manager and national practice leader at Ernst & Young.

Honors include receiving the 2013 MIT Sloan CIO of the Year Award, a recognition that honors Chief Information Officers who “lead their organizations to deliver business value and innovative use of information technology in exceptional ways.”

Blanchette served in the U.S. military for 11 years.  

He received his bachelor of arts from James Madison University, his master of science at University of North Texas and an MBA of University of Maryland, University College.

Blanchette succeeds Richard E. Chapman, who retired effective December 31, 2013.
